FITZPATRICKII.74.1 FITZPATRICK, Benjamin, was born in Greene country, Georgia, June 30, 1802, and died in Alabama, Nov. 21, 1869. He was admitted to the bar in Alabama in 1821, was governor of his state 1841-5, and United States senator 1848-9 and 1853-61, and in 1860 received and declined the democratic nomination for the vice-presidency.
