Preti Varathan did a nice job. The production value was very high. Thanks for sharing this Bryan and for being a part of it. I loved the little picture show to demonstrate everybody getting richer. And I especially loved the few Facebook comments underneath the article who wrote, “that’s not what happens!” They did have some good points, though, about the “Welfare” systems being an obstacle to Open Borders. Of course, if immigrants weren’t allowed citizenship, then they could be easily excluded… I wish I could be excluded from welfare programs, especially the part where I’m forced to fund them.

Come to think of it, by taxing immigrants in Singapore but forcing them out of the country before they obtain citizenship, the people of Singapore are—at least in part—funding their own Welfare system on the backs of the poorest people in their economy while excluding them from that system. That’s pretty despicable. Except the immigrants clearly feel it’s a good deal for them compared to their alternatives. Perhaps I have no right to judge either party since the arrangement is voluntary. And yet, a better arrangement for both parties is possible…
