Comment Policy

Thank you to everyone who comments at EconLog and EconTalk. We appreciate the time our readers and listeners spend to share ideas and give feedback.

However, we also want our comments to be as useful as possible to all of our readers and contributors. While we keep most comments online, we remain a moderated platform, and we will remove the following:

Rude or Harassing comments: While conversation and the sharing of different ideas is encouraged, all comments need to be respectful toward our contributors, those leaving comments, and others being discussed. Profanity will be removed.

Anonymous comments: We do not accept anonymous comments.  Nicknames, pseudonyms, etc. are permitted. We only accept comments from people who identify themselves. A valid email address is also required.

Promotional comments: If a comment is solely promotional in nature, we will remove it from the site. All spam will be removed.


We reserve the right to remove any comments from the site and to suspend commenting privileges to individuals in violation of our policy. Please leave comments that are respectful, germane, and useful.
