My Hoover colleague Paul Gregory, an economist who studied and still studies the Soviet Union, has put together a book, Women of the Gulag: Portraits of Five Remarkable Lives.

Now a film is being made about these 5 women who were victims of the vicious Joseph Stalin. I encourage EconLog readers to donate to this good cause. One of the understudied events of the 20th century, certainly in movie form, is the horror that the Communists, and especially Joseph Stalin, inflicted on millions of people. Making this film is important.

We don’t have a good category for this and so I’m putting it under the Economics of Crime. The reason, I trust, is obvious.
